About this position:
At HD, our mission is to develop innovative digital solutions for the hospitality industry. As a Data Architect, you will be a crucial part of the Data Engineering Team, contributing to develop, enhance, and extend a state-of-the-art data platform and data solutions. 
 
This position contributes to the Data Insights department, which is comprised by the Data Engineering Team, Data Science Team, and Data Analytics Team. You will be mainly responsible for organizing, expanding, and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture.
 
An ideal candidate enjoys creating and optimizing data models, and applies best practices to generate the highest value from heterogenous data. The candidate will have good communication skills, as the position requires close collaboration with data engineers, ML engineers, data analysts and business stakeholders.
Your responsibilities:
  • Support and advice several teams within the Data Insights department on data initiatives to ensure data delivery/quality through an optimal data design & architecture.
  • Maintain the business glossary of data asset definitions.
  • Identify, track and document the data lineage of the data assets.
  • Be responsible for the review of data quality results and resolve data issues.
  • Work with teams and business units to ensure proper data governance.
  • Proactively provide innovative solutions to problems and drive the implementation leveraging Google Cloud Services.
  • Work in an agile and dynamic environment together with engineers, data scientists, and data analyst.
  • Play a key role in shaping the Data Engineering team at HD.
Your Profile:
Specifics:
  • Master’s degree in information systems, computer science, statistics, or a related field.
  • Solid experience working with DBT.
  • Experience working with large-scale data warehousing projects using GCP services.
  • Proven experience architecting data solutions on GCP.
Basics:
  • Relevant years of experience in building and optimizing data pipelines and architectures.
  • Experience ensuring data governance for heterogenous datasets.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on data issues.
  • Solid scripting skills with SQL.
  • Solid analytical skills related to working with structure and unstructured datasets.
  • Experience working with cloud services such as GCP, Azure, and AWS.
  • Ability to build consensus by clearly communicating and presenting information.
  • Fluency in English; German and other languages are considered beneficial.
